Bangaluru Meter Masti!

April 30th, 2010 | by Narendra |

Talk of Bangalore and you can’t miss its beautiful weather! As I write now, its raining outside. For a couple of weeks it felt Bangalore have lost its trade mark weather as temperature was rising continuously and there was no sign of rains. In between I went to Kolkata and remembered there (again) what is true summer heat (with lots of perspiration).

Now, eying to Bangalore’s beautiful weather, if you plan to be here you must not overlook its largely bad tempered and unmanaged  bad traffic (I feel Bangaloreans’ traffic sense is worst among Metropolitan cities of India).  If you have got a bike to commute it best.

The most readily available thing, once you put your leg on road will be an auto-rickshaw (apart from lots of beautiful looking Volvo bushes to other BMTC vehicles). During my last one year stay at Bangalore I have had a wide variety of experience with auto-rickshaw and their drivers. As my job require me to travel across the city, I find these most usable as I don’t have any personal vehicle. But most of the percentage of these particular type of population will behave like “Thugs” always demanding something extra upon whatever meter charges will incur.

… Not to mention something funny like below.

Speed of the meter is faster than the speed of vehicle, it seems! (Note that per kilometer rate is Rs. 7/- only)
